Community Engagement
Becoming Responsible Citizens
Service to others is a core principle of our Catholic faith and a cornerstone of the Good Shepherd School philosophy.
At Good Shepherd School this is an integral part of the school year.
All students from Kindergarten through the Eighth Grade participate in the St. Vincent de Paul Lunch Program.
Each Friday the students with the assistance of parent volunteers make and pack 120 lunches for a local soup kitchen. Students, parents and staff raise the money to purchase the food items, solicit for donations, and then deliver the lunches.
Annually the Student Council collaborates with our neighboring parish to collect food items for the migrant farm worker community in the small town of Pajaro, CA.
In addition to these regular events, our students reach out to those whose sudden needs are a result of tragedy or natural disaster.
